We run Box Hedge Farm Bed and Breakfast near Westerleigh. We have
eighteen rooms and also have a capability of providing self catering
facilities for over thirty people.
When our local Tourist Information Centre at Chipping Sodbury
discontinued their website B&B Directory in 2001 we were very
disappointed. We were already fully aware of the value of the
Internet for advertising B&B and self catering accommodation because
we have our own website at www.bed-breakfast-bristol.com
from which we
obtain 95% or more of our new business.
It was nice to be able to direct Internet users to the Chipping
Sodbury Tourist website when we were full.
When we spoke to the Tourist Centre they said they couldn't afford
to run a website - we say you can't afford not to run a
website as more and more people seek their accommodation via the
Internet.
We finally launched this website in June 2003, obviously to promote
our own business but at the same time providing (free of charge) a platform for
other local B&B's.
